Scotty Sykes is actively involved in all areas of pharmacy accounting and tax with an emphasis on high-level advisory for pharmacy clients.
Scotty is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Financial Planner® at Sykes & Company, P.A. and has focused on pharmacy accounting, tax, and advisory his entire career. His primary focus is pharmacy advisory, pharmacy tax planning, and leading the industry with pharmacy tax and accounting updates.
Scotty believes in building strong relationships with pharmacy owners, third parties and key vendors to help pharmacy clients access the best possible resources, accounting, tax and advisory in the pharmacy industry.
He is a frequent presenter on pharmacy accounting and complex tax matters at national and state conferences. He is also an avid writer for industry publications, providing progressive approaches to operating a successful pharmacy. He has published several pharmacy accounting and tax related articles in America’s Pharmacist, the official magazine of the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) magazine, and others.
Scotty is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants and is a corporate member of the National Community Pharmacists Association. Scotty received his Certified Public Accountant certification in August 2011 and his Certified Financial Planner® certification in 2019. He received his B.S. in Business Administration and M.S. in Accountancy from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
Outside of Sykes & Company, P.A., Scotty is actively involved in the community through local economic advisory boards and is a founder and current President of The George & Alex Memorial Foundation which raises scholarship money for high school seniors. He enjoys church on Sundays, is a scratch golfer and loves to spend every minute with his childhood next-door neighbor and wife, Carole, and their son Pete.
